After travelling for so many miles,
My parcel has finally reached its destination safely.

It was such a belated gift.
I am sorry to make you wait so long.
Hope it was worth the wait.

Happy belated birthday.

Just finished watching Jay Chou's first movie production, "Secret".
Interesting plot.
Great music.
Can't deny he's quite a talent.
(tks jim for lending)

The cover of the VCD wrote..

随着音乐 相爱到时间的尽头
初恋 谁说不可以地老天荒
"能遇见你已经是不可思议了.."

The movie depicts a very romantic and devoted love story.
But in reality, is it suffice to just say "能遇见你已经是不可思议了.."
without wishing for things to work out?

All of us wish for a "..and they live happily ever after" story.
Sometimes the incomplete stories of those around us makes it seems unattainable.
Is it really that difficult to love?
Why do people love so easily and fall out of it just as easily?
Isn't love something sacred?

To me, to be able to love is such a privilege.
I wouldnt exchange it for anything.
Yet I yearned more to be loved.
Because it is the greatest honor a fellow human can bestowed upon another.
I thank God that I am loved by my family and close friends.

Unfortunately, very often we love..
Because of...
If only...
So that...

If only we learn to love..
With commitment..
Not run away when we face problems..
Not give up just because it takes too much for us to give up..
Love is a responsibility..

God loves us so much that He took a personal responsibility.
To the extent of sending His son to lay down His life.

Love is the intelligent willingness to do what's best for the other person.
Have you shown love to someone today?

Many friends asked me why I call myself "Wednesday" (actually my email add and not my name).
Well..i think it's cute, cool, catchy.
The idea came from the show "Addams Family".
I went to watch the movie many years ago.
After the show, me and my friends were trying to imitate the characters.
Uncle Fester, Gomez and of course Wednesday.

(From Left: Uncle Fester, Wednesday Addams, Thing (the hand on Gomez), Gomez Addams, Lurch, Morticia Addams, Pugsley Addams and Grandmama Addams. Not sure of baby's name.)

I didnt particularly adore her character.
But I recalled her name when I was trying to crack my brains for some unique email name.
And I thot "Wednesday, it sounds cool".
We have the "fridays", "april", "may", "june" thingy.
But I have not heard of any who have the name "Wednesday".
And so the adoption begins.

And then, to my pleasant surprise, I stumbled on a "Whatever Wednesday" site.
Hosted by http://www.youth.sg/
Interesting, almost to the extent of amusing.
At least to me.

Check out the site.
If you catch the phrase "Whatever Wednesday" on its blog,
which will only appears, of course, on Wednesday,
You may get to win great prizes.

Whatever Wednesday.
I like how it sounds.

Visited pl today.
She looked good but tired.
The baby look tiny and lanky.
Handsome little boy.
Happy for them both.

She asked about my partnership.
Told her my partner has pulled out.
She felt sorry for me.
Ya, it caused me much turmoil.

I used to feel sorry for myself.
And very angry that things turned out this way.
But it's no use getting upset now.
Because it will never change anything.

If only we all learn to think of others first.
Before we make any decisions.
Even if we think we have all the right reasons.
Because sometimes what seems right can go very wrong.

Some food for thought..

What About Me
(Taken from www.christianstories.com - Great Reminder Stories)

"What about me" are three little words
That are too often used by man.
But God never meant these words misused.
Not ever since time began.

You can tell by the way a man uses these words,
He's trying to get you to see
That his problems are greater! Just listen to him,
For his next words are, "What about me?"

Let us look at the power in these words
When you use them only for you.
The moment you speak, all you see is yourself
And not what you say or do.

We're not always right, but we're not always wrong,
Many things would be better if we
Would just listen to the words that we've said,
And leave out the "What about me?"

It's not easy to undo the damage we've done
When we walk down this path, you see;
For the other person has a side just as real--
Does he say, "What about me?"

I believe the next time, if we'd look and THEN leap
We'd see where our next step should be,
We'd be much more careful what we say or do
And not whine, "But what about me?"

I'm trying real hard not to use these words
Just to get someone to agree;
Or draw attention to my problems in life
By always saying, "What about me?"

Before Jesus ascended to Heaven,
He said, "I came that all men may go free."
From the manger to the cross, not once did He say
"Heavenly Father, What About Me?"

I went to sp for pep today.
Didnt plan to.
Was suppose to meet an old friend for lunch.
But change of plans in the end.

During pep we shared about our conversion stories.
It's amazing to hear how God pursued each one of us.
Despite the fact that we rejected Him over and over again.
Yet He never gave us up.

We read Rev 20:11-15.
On one hand we are thankful that our name is in the Book of Life.
But we are also reminded that there are many more who are not.

Dear Lord, give us increased burden for the lost.
Like how You felt compassion for the multitude.
Remind us daily that time is running out.
For tomorrow may not come for some of us.

11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.
14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

My 3rd blog for the day.
Feeling abit long-winded today.

I had dinner with mum and nephew.
After a week long of "family business", we deserved a good meal.
Unfortunately, the food wasnt too appetizing.
Should have eaten Thai Express instead.

Went grocery shopping at Cold Storage.
Saw two cool looking bottles of drink.
Decided to buy them.
One for my coffee-lover friend.
Another for my greenie-gift-giver friend.
Hope they will like it.

When I first heard this song in church, I remembered I cried.
I was going through a rough time back then.
This song brings alot of comfort.
Since then, whenever I go through difficult times,
This song will always reminds me of God.
Of His power, His strength, His ability, His sovereignity.
When I feel shaken, I always remember to be STILL.

STILL
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me, within Your Mighty Hand.

When the oceans rise and thunders roar,
I will soar with You, above the storm
Father, You are King over the flood.
I will be still and know You are God.

Find rest my soul,
In Christ alone.
Know His power, in quietness and trust

Today is my uncle's funeral.
Watching my extended family getting ready for the send-off was unbearable.
I am reminded of my dad.
Reminded of his funeral.
Reminded of how I felt.
Reminded that I don't like how I felt.

I missed my dad.
I am saddened that I did so little for him.
I wish I could turn back the clock.

Sometimes you think that death will makes us appreciate the living.
But very often, we never learnt our lesson.
A friend once said to me that he will only appreciate a person/thing until he lost it.

No. If you have ever lost someone precious before, you would never make that statement.
Losing someone is a painful experience.
No one would want to relive it.
If you truly love someone, you will appreciate and treasure the person wholeheartedly all the time.
As if it's the last time you are going to see him/her.
That is selfless love.

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

It's raining cats and dogs now.
I dont like getting wet, especially when I doll myself up for church. Haha.

I wonder how the phrase "raining cats and dogs" came about.
So I went to the internet and checked.
The explanations were somewhat absurd.
Here's an extract of some of them..

Simply ridiculous isnt it?

Just returned back from the wake.
Felt extremely awake (no pun intended).
I shouldnt have taken the nap in the afternoon.
Then again, I desperately needed it to survive another night.

What should I do to tire myself?
I have been catching up on this book.
But the story is getting too juicy to be read at nite.
I had goosebumps when I was reading it earlier on.
Not the scary type but the contents is getting too thrilling for me at this time of the nite.

I will probably looked for some unsuspecting victims to chat online.
Till my eyelids could hold no longer.

I have been observing my extended family at the wake.
I must say that Chinese are very superstitious.
They read too much into every single thing - even if there's a logical explanation to it.
When things seems a little out of the norm, they would credit it to some "force" that is behind it.
Even if they can't prove the "force", they rather go hush-hush about it then offend it.

Maybe it is our fear of the unknown.
The fear of not being able to be in control.
And so we look high and low for someone (or something) to explain it.
It gives us much assurance when we can tag a reason to the cause.

Is that what we call faith or blind faith?

50 I tell you this, brothers:flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
"Death is swallowed up in victory."
55 "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
(1 Corinthians 15:50-58)

At a meeting this morning, a few of us were looking at this passage and talking about what the Bible teaches about death.

Nobody welcomes death.
Though it may sound morbid, but not all of us have the "luxury" of lying in our deathbed making final arrangements.
Sometimes it took us by surprise.
Sometimes it is too late to do anything.
Death often comes in a package - tears, regrets, sadness.
Yet for us Christian, though it may means being apart with our loved ones here on earth, death also marks a new beginning - eternity rest with our Lord.

10 minutes after my meeting, I received news that my uncle, who is critically sick, might not make it any longer.
I rushed down to the hospital.
An hour later, my uncle passed away.
Our 2nd death in the family this year.

I wish I could have said something to him earlier on.
I somehow swallowed up all the words.
Maybe it wont make much difference.

Recd a bout of bad news lately.

Death.
Attended 4 wakes this year.

Sickness.
My uncle is right now very sick in the hospital.

I wonder what will a person be thinking of when he knew that death is approaching?

Unfulfilled wishes and dreams?
Things he cant bear to leave behind like family, friends?
Fear of what is to come?
Or simply whether his life has been purposeful?

I think when you are at your deathbed and have time to think about what your life is really all about, you should seriously think about it.

We all work so hard to prepare our time here on earth but many of us hardly work equally hard to prepare ourself for what's ahead - our eternal destination.

I read a poem "Eternal Link" taken from http://www.christianstories.com/ (under Challenging Stories) and it really make me seriously consider what your life is going to count for when God reads the book of your life.

Go read them. Too long to post it here.

A little joke to tickle the bones ...

Barbershop Salvation (taken from http://www.creativeyouthideas.com/)

After twenty years of shaving himself every morning, a man in a small Southern town decided he had enough. He told his wife that he intended to let the local barber shave him each day. He put on his hat and coat and went to the barber shop, which was owned by the pastor of the town's Baptist Church.

The barber's wife, Grace, was working that day, so she performed the task. Grace shaved him and sprayed him with lilac water, and said, "That will be $20." The man thought the price was a bit high, but he paid the bill and went to work. The next morning the man looked in the mirror, and his face was as smooth as it had been when he left the barber shop the day before. Not bad, he thought. At least I don't need to get a shave every day.

The next morning, the man's face was still smooth. Two weeks later, the man was still unable to find any trace of whiskers on his face. It was more than he could take, so he returned to the barber shop.

"I thought $20 was high for a shave", he told the barber's wife, "but you must have done a great job. It's been two weeks and my whiskers still haven't started growing back."

The expression on her face didn't even change, expecting his comment. She responded, "You were shaved by Grace. Once shaved, always shaved."

Some of my friends commented that I have become quite a EMO myself.

Erm, perhaps it has got to do with my previous entries and what I have written in Friendster.

The truth of the matter is...I do feel like an EMO then..cos of some unpleasant things that have happen.

I am trying hard to move on and to leave the past behind though very often what has happen often came to mind.

But life has enough troubles of its own. I had better not add on to it.

I finally found a blogskin that I really like.

The best part is .. it's in GREEN, my all-time favourite colour.

Now I must figure out how to "transport" my multiply blog entry over.
