Amazing Grace!
It was a tradition to organize a outing for my students before school starts next week. Based on our past records, i decided to hold a nite cycling cum bbq plus a chalet for them to bunk over. At first the sign up wasnt much to boast about but amazingly over the past 2 days, words spread and now we have 30 people coming for the program.
It was a really good start to the year having such encouraging turnout. Yet at the same time, almost nerve wrecking. It was a long story. The chalet that i initially booked was not able to accomodate the hugh turnout and i have to look for an alternative venue, risking the alrdy booked chalet to be vacant. It was a tough decision to either book connecting chalets or to find a place that is big enuf to pack everyone in. The natural thing is to get the connecting ones but i wld need to book a min of 2 nites each, which will cost me at least $200. To cut the story short, after many phone calls, pleading, begging and praying, i managed to get a bigger venue with the help of many friends. Then the issue of the vacant chalet. Within such a short time of only 24 hours it was almost impossible to find a replacement. I was so desperate that i even called my secondary school friends.
God is good. When i almost gave up and was ready to fork out the $, my dear fren called me and say she is willing to take over the chalet even though they only get to enjoy the chalet for less than 16 hours.
Right now, my mind is one burden off and i can now concentrate of ensuring the running of the program with my students. Now my only worries is the safety of the cyclists on the road. Hopefully the road will be less travelled tonite so that we can have a smooth road ahead.
